UNITE Event
SEPTEMBER 20, 2015 | PORTLAND, OR
When Design Museum Portland asked if we’d be interested in sponsoring a UNITEevent focused on retail design, the answer was an enthusiastic, yes! The amazingly talented designers and clients we work with in the retail industry inspire us daily. We knew there was a wealth of information to be shared with the design community.
On August 19, a vacant retail space in Pioneer Place was transformed into a vibrant gathering of design enthusiasts excited to hear from local thought leaders on retail design. Stacey Day of Design Within Reach moderated an engaging panel discussion with ACME’s own Suzy Alexander, Andee Hess of Osmose Design and Kimberly Yaeger of Nike, Inc. A fun conversation from differing perspectives unfolded covering everything from designing a local centric retail experience for Portland’s beloved Salt & Straw, to implementing brand standards in Nike’s international stores, to last minute design revisions informed by the fabrication process.
ACME has partnered with designers and retailers in Portland and beyond for over 20 years. We were thrilled to have the opportunity to enrich those partnerships by sponsoring Design Museum Portland’s UNITE event—creating a forum for the dialogue that enhances and inspires the creative production process.
Stay tuned for a podcast featuring the complete discussion, but for now get more details and see pictures from the event from Design Museum Portland.
