Hacienda CDC Food Drive

Last week we wrapped up our Holiday Food Drive in partnership with Hacienda CDC and couldn’t be happier with the turn out.

We’ve been working alongside Hacienda CDC for over 3 years, each year providing more opportunities to give back. The local non-profit dedicates their efforts in enriching the lives of the local Portland community, creating opportunities for families throughout the Cully and surrounding areas.

ACME distributed boxes throughout the office back in October to start the food drive collection early.

Collection boxes were placed around the office with the Hacienda CDC food suggestions attached.

This year we felt our efforts could be best directed in hosting a food collection drive for Hacienda CDC to give families a memorable holiday meal. We reached out to Hacienda CDC back in early October to see if it would be possible to host a donation drive and they eagerly accepted. Hacienda CDC provided a list of seasonal goods that would provide the basics for a hearty holiday dinner. Our team took the list as a challenge and worked to check everything off, providing a wide variety of food for the families to enjoy.

“ACME has always felt a need to contribute to the community that has helped us flourish and a food drive with our local organization is a wonderful way to give back.”

In total, our team raised around 623lbs of food, topping our last record of 506lbs. Despite what these past years have brought, our team proved that every year gets better than the last.

ACME employees loaded all 600+ lbs of food for delivery, excited for Hacienda CDC to receive the food collected.

ACME team worked together to load the food for delivery for Hacienda CDC, moving all 600+ lbs onto the truck.

Hacienda CDC stated they have begun diving out the food and delivering to families. They’ve been excited to get everything out, especially before the start of the Thanksgiving week.

We look forward to hosting another successful donation drive for Hacienda CDC and we hope you have a good holiday season this year. We’ll keep you updated on what’s next in the pipeline for ACME Cares, thank you for reading!

Hacienda CDC employees spread out the food collected to begin processing the items for delivery for families.

The Hacienda CDC team removed all the donated items and carefully separated everything across 7 tables.

“One comment from a family mentioned being very grateful to ACME and Hacienda for the donation. They feel blessed to be able to get good food for their family’s holiday meal. They are very grateful to provide a wonderful meal this Thanksgiving,”
