New Tasting Room Opens With a Buzz

NOVEMBER 30, 2015 | PORTLAND, OR

Since their official opening on November 16, House Spirits Distillery’s new location and adjoining tasting room have received quite a bit of attention and praise for the impactful brand experience, stunning interior design and bespoke casework.

ACME is delighted to have been a part of such a successful collaboration with award-winning design firm, OSMOSE Design, responsible for a number of Portland local gems such as: Salt & StrawStumptown Coffee Roasters & Ava Gene’s. OSMOSE approached ACME to provide fabrication and installation services for their design of the tasting room which showcases House Spirits’ vision and products while creating a dynamic space that is a thrill both to visit and taste in. Osmose created a minimal yet sophisticated look in the 1100 square foot space by committing to a material pallet of black medium density fiberboard, Douglas fir and aluminum.

“ACME was a delight to work with on the House Spirits Tasting Room,” said Andee Hess, principal at OSMOSE. “Aside from their extensive capabilities and fabrication expertise, they possess an adventurous problem-solving approach to design challenges.”

“We were honored to work with such a talented design firm that understands how to bring a brand to life in a unique and detailed way.” Says Suzy Alexander, VP of Marketing & Sales for ACME Scenic & Display. “We took great pleasure in working closely with OSMOSE to provide creative solutions throughout the fabrication and installation process. We really thrive on projects that take the experience to another level in terms of truly beautiful, bespoke finish work.“

The tasting room installation tells the story behind each of House Spirits Distillery’s brands: its flagship Aviation American Gin, Krogstad Aquavit, Volstead Vodka, Westward Oregon Straight Malt Whiskey, and limited edition spirits only available at the tasting room. The tasting room also features a large viewing window to connect visitors with the distillery’s actual production area.

The House Spirits Distillery and Tasting Room are now open in their new location, 65 SE Washington Street, Portland, OR 97214. Open seven days a week from noon to six p.m.
