Revisiting For Additional Installation
DECEMBER 06, 2017 | PORTLAND, OR
Back in March 2017, the Portland Trailblazers and Fred Meyer Stores unveiled their salute to Homegrown Athletes at the Moda Center in Portland, OR. It was a symbol of the newly-expanded partnership between the the Portland Trail Blazers and Fred Meyer Stores. ACME was awarded this design-build project, and the opportunity to bring their concept to fruition.
Flash forward to October 2017, the Portland Trailblazers and Fred Meyer Stores teamed up for a second installation at The Moda Center to pay tribute to Oregon and Southwest Washington high school basketball teams. Having designed and crafted the first, ACME was brought on-board for this second installation located on the Fred Meyer branded 300 Level of the Moda Center. ACME took their original inspiration and designed based on aesthetic and budget, centering around raw wood, direct print, and sprinkling in some acrylic and 3D pieces to give it life. This new installation also showcased additional jerseys from around the state of Oregon and Southwest Washington in individual wooden and glass boxes.
The installation truly highlights the connection between Fred Meyer Stores and Oregon homegrown athletes. As a local company, it was a privilege again to be a part of this special project, celebrating homegrown athletes and the continued partnership between the Trail Blazers and Fred Meyer Stores, two local and homegrown companies.
