Camp Cowabunga at Topeka Zoo

  • Topeka, Kansas
  • Designed by Studio Tectonic
Camp Cowabunga, an immersive African exhibit at Topeka Zoo, was based around the experiences of Director Emeritus, Gary Clarke who led over a hundred safaris in Africa. ACME partnered closely with Studio Tectonic to fabricate and install their unique design. The exhibit includes various custom elements including thematic graphic structures, printed banners, aluminum graphic structures, interior and exterior graphics, a loo exhibit with a working shower, and a hot air balloon with flame burner audio. It also features a unique lion interactive that matches the number of decibels participants yell to the decibels of a lion’s roar.
