Celebrating ACME Anniversary

JANUARY 29, 2020 | PORTLAND, OR

We’re celebrating one year of ACME Cares!

ACME Cares is the community outreach extension of ACME, and our mission is to support the youth of our community by coming alongside Big Brothers Big Sisters Columbia Northwest (BBBS) as an active partner in order to aid in growing their impact and supporting their mission.

We are proud and humbled by all that 2019 brought with ACME Cares. We kicked-off our partnership with BBBS with some significant events throughout the year, including The Big Hero Gala, Graduation, and Rappel for a Reason. We also joined the Beyond School Walls Program in October. Twice per month, ten students from Scott Elementary come to ACME to meet with ten of our awesome team members and engage in curriculum facilitated by the BBBS staff. It’s been three months and our Bigs and Littles are loving being a part of the program. Lastly, in the middle of December we wrapped up the year with our annual youth toy drive in partnership with Hacienda CDC. The items we collect go directly to the children Hacienda CDC serves in their after-school program within our local Cully neighborhood.

As we move into 2020, we are halfway through the school year with the Beyond School Walls program and we are also celebrating National Mentoring Month by prepping for the Big Hero Gala on Saturday, February 8. We are honored and thrilled to be partnering with BBBS again this year by providing event production and fabrication for their event. The Big Hero Gala is their biggest annual fundraiser in support of their organization and their efforts to mentor children facing adversity. We couldn’t be more excited to continue joining in the efforts of supporting the youth of our community!

Cheers to 2020!
